I am pleased to extend my warmest greetings to all of you as we begin a new era of innovation, collaboration, and excellence at the International Centre of Excellence for Dams (ICED). International Centre of Excellence for Dams is being developed in close collaboration between IIT Roorkee and Central Water Commission, MoJS. The faculty members of the Department of Hydrology, Civil Engineering, Earthquake Engineering, and other Departments of IIT Roorkee and CWC and National and International experts have joined hands to develop the Centre as the most advanced Centre globally to provide advanced engineering solutions to the emerging dam design safety and rehabilitation challenges. In its relatively brief existence, ICED has rapidly transformed into a centre of knowledge and expertise in dam safety and rehabilitation. I take tremendous delight in the advancements we achieve daily due to our dedication to pushing the limits of research, education, and outreach in this important sector. As we move forward, I want to emphasise our commitment to fostering a culture of learning and growth. ICED is not just a centre of academic excellence but also a hub for innovative research, providing solutions to real-world problems. Our centre is fortunate to have a diverse blend of experienced faculty and enthusiastic young minds, which propels us toward our goals. We continually strive to impact the global dam safety landscape meaningfully. I also express my gratitude to the faculty, staff, and students who have consistently demonstrated dedication and passion in all their endeavours. It is their commitment that makes ICED a centre of excellence. Through this website, we aim to offer you a glimpse into the world of ICED – our vision, facilities, opportunities, and the vibrant community that defines us.
